Here's a belated 6 month Kai update:
-this boy loves books more than anything...even me or his dad! He gets so excited when I start reading. He's kind of picky though and only likes certain books. Right now his favorites are a Sesame Street book called "Bubbles Bubbles" (from Grandma B) and a counting book that has a number on each page and items that correspond. (4 blocks, 5 fingers, 6 socks etc)
-he still can't roll over
-we tried solid foods (mashed up banana) but then he wouldn't take his bottle anymore so we had to stop! (he wants to be grown up more than anything)
-he still doesn't sleep at night and wakes up crying every hour. We don't get much sleep around here but we are still pretty happy cause he's a bundle of joy during the day time :)
-he loves to just sit in his bumbo chair and watch me clean up or make dinner
-he loves going on walks and often falls asleep on them
-he still has to be held and bounced a certain way to fall asleep. We don't mind though because it's the only time he will cuddle!
-he is finally really coordinated and loves playing with his binky and the straps on his bumbo chair
-he loves grocery shopping with mama! I think he loves getting out of the house and being out and about
-I think he really wants to crawl and move around and is frustrated that he can't yet. Just a few more months little guy!
-Baby Einstein, specifically the Numbers Nursery episode, is the ultimate calmer for him. If he's ever super fussy and wont calm down, we just turn it on and he stops immediately. Seriously magic.
-He has always hated being swaddled or cuddled. If I try to hold him or sit calmly with him on my lap, he just arches his back and squirms to get away. But once in a while he will sit and watch a movie with us. He has been loving Tarzan!
-nothing fascinates him more than watching me drink a water bottle. It's hilarious.
-He loves to watch me eat and I can tell he wants to eat everything I do!
My favorites this month:
Sucking his bottom lip. He does this ALL the time and it's so funny. Especially when he smiles while doing it. What a ham!
Shopping trips with this boy. He just smiles and looks around. Everyone comments on how cute he is.
His baby blues. I keep thinking his eyes will turn brown (since mine are so dark), but they just get bluer everyday. Such a prettyboy.
When I say his name and he turns around and looks at me like this!
The one and only time ever he let me cuddle him!
The joy on his face opening his birthday present from Grandma T!
He's my best little bud and I love taking him everywhere I go. Errands are so much more fun with him!
ME:
-Still pumping twice a day, getting about 14oz total (better than nothing right?)
-Working a few shifts a month
-Forgetting what sleep is
-Unable to stop kissing my sweet-cheeked boy
-Eating lots of greek yogurt
-Trying new recipes and cooking lots of healthy meals
-Getting help for my buying-Kai-clothes addiction
-In dire need of a good haircut and dye but scared cause I don't know a good haircutter (it's been over a year and a half...help.)
-Went to a Journey concert with Kolby and LOVED it.
