10 Products Only a Mother Could Love

So I thought it would be fun to share my favorite products as a new mom. Here they are:

1. Bright Starts Playful Pals bouncer: My boy loves this bouncer. It's so cute and colorful, it vibrates, and plays music. What more could a baby ask for? And it's only 25 bones.

2. Fisher Price diaper bag: Every man needs to save his pride when he takes the baby out and brings the diaper bag along. Here's the answer...it's like a manly diaper bag made by Fisher Price. It is awesome. (I even use it sometimes...!) It has a designated pocket for every baby item, a cold pack pocket that keeps bottles cold, it comes with a great changing pad, and it has a built in wipes dispenser. My husband LOVES this bag. You're welcome husbands.

3. Johnson's Hand & Face wipes: These are great for on the go to wipe anything...you can even wipe baby's eyes with them. They kill 95% of germs too. Great for wiping baby hands and face, pacifiers, your chest before breastfeeding...and they are so gentle for baby skin. Love them.

4. Aden & Anais swaddle blankets: The best swaddle blankets hands down. They are big which is perfect for swaddling and the material is lightweight muslin. They can be layered for colder temps. They get softer each time you wash them. And they are dang cute!

5. Medela manual breast pump: I've been using this on a daily basis to pump a few times here and there so my husband can feed my lil babe while I get some much needed rest, and little one can still have my breast milk. I've also used it to pump after nursing in order to increase my milk supply. It's such a great pump. It's a manual pump but super easy to use. Two thumbs up!

6. Mini Spooners: You may be laughing at this one, but it is seriously the breakfast/snack of champion mothers. It is so healthy. Just ONE CUP of this powerfood has 90% Iron, 100% Folic Acid, 5g protein, 6g fiber...need I say more? I eat it everyday and I am already back down to 112 pounds, only 3 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight. I give all the credit to this cereal. Seriously guys. Get yoself some.

7. Dr Smith's diaper ointment: I heard amazing things about this cream and had to try it out...turns out everything I heard was true. My lil guy started to get some redness on his bum, so I used this stuff every diaper change for a day and it cleared up right away! Dr. Smith knows his stuff.

8. My Brest Friend nursing pillow: Most moms seem to buy the boppy pillow, but I heard the "brest friend" was better for breastfeeding. I agree, this pillow is awesome. Horrible name, but is perfect if you want both hands free while your little one nurses. It's very comfortable for mom and baby, has a water bottle holder, and straps around your waist.

9. Wubbanub Pacifier: My baby boy is addicted to pacifiers. Unfortunately, he hasn't learned to keep them in yet, so they are always falling out, and he kinda freaks when they do. Enter the Wubbanub pacifier. It has a cute animal attached to better hold the pacifier in.

10. Fisher Price Rainforest open top cradle swing: I have an older version of this swing but I LOVE it, and baby boy LOVES it. Sometimes it's the only thing that puts him to sleep. It has a cute bright mobile that hangs down from the top, which my boy loves to stare at. It has 6 different speed settings, relaxing music AND sounds, and it's half the price of those fancy schmancy mammaroos. Boom. I'm sold.

So there you have it! My 10 favorite mom/baby products. Hope this was helpful!

Yours truly,

Three is better than two

Wow, where do I even begin? How about
being a mom is the best thing to ever happen to me.

Kai is already 3 weeks today, and I cannot believe how fast time is flying.
Time sure flies when you are having fun,
and taking care of the cutest boy in the whole world.

But seriously, I am whipped.
I would do anything for my little love.

I mean....just look at that face.
I get to wake up to that every morning,
and several times each night when he's hungry :)

Gosh I love him!

Sorry for all the gushing, but I'm just so full of love
for this little boy and I want the whole world to know it.

Ok, now for some stats...

Kai loves:
-Being held and cuddled
-His bouncer and swing (thanks grandma!!)
-his womb sounds app on my phone
-being patted on the back
-his car seat and long drives
-sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed
-his NUK pacifier
-laying on daddy's chest
-long long naps during the day
-sucking his fingers
-his hands up by his face
-having his head rubbed
-laying on his tummy across mommy's legs
-talking in his sleep
-watching BYU football in daddy's lap
-listening to Coldplay
-eating, of course

Kai dislikes:
-his crib
-mommy's lanolin cream (he won't nurse if I have put it on that day...)
-Japanese curry (poor thing had bad gas after I ate it one night)
-dropping his pacifier

Things I love:
-When I burp him and his soft cheek is against mine
-When he smiles big in his sleep
-When he looks around with those big eyes, exploring the world
-The face he makes when he's done eating
-How everyone who holds or meets him says he heals them, and that there is something special about him
-The way he sleeps with his mouth open
-The cute hair on his arms and back
-The way he vigorously sucks his binky like his life depends on it
-His sweet little baby breath that always smells like honey or flowers
-The little noises he constantly makes while sleeping...
-Just everything. I love everything about him. He is perfect. I am so dang lucky to be his momma.

Right now he's in the other room in his swing fast asleep making cute little animal whimper noises, and it makes my heart smile.

I'm currently working on writing his birth story, but the details
are a little foggy seeing as I was falling asleep during the whole birth...whoopsies!
I'm determined to write it and will post it soon...
I think many of you will find it quite fascinating since it took place in Japan where they are absolutely crazy and do things completely different than the U.S.
Oh man, don't even get me started.
Let me just say this...at one point there  was a little japanese doctor standing on a stool over me pushing down extremely hard on my uterus like she was doing CPR on it in order to force Kai out of me...what the heckkkkkk?

And now for some pictures...(and by some I mean a billion)
I'll admit I'm a little clickhappy with the camera, but can you blame me?
I mean look at the little guy.
Actually, I will spare you 3 hours of pictures and post those in a separate post. Here are some highlights...

The moment my heart exploded. Love at first sight.

This pic was taken when I had to be separated from him for 24 hours after birth...it was unbearable.

Rockin the Japanese hospital gown

Finally at home!

 GO COUGARS!

He loved watching his first BYU game!

Happy 3 weeks lil guy. We love you to the moon and back. And infinitely more.

And 3 is definitely better than two
