I can't believe you are already 7 months. I turned to your daddy the other day and said "Oh my gosh Kai turns 7 months tomorrow! What the heck?!" Where is all this time going? March flew by quicker than any of our months with you, probably because I started working again. I had to leave you a few days and it was hard for me. You are my world and I like it that way. I hope you missed me too. I think you did, because during my 12 hour shift daddy said you were fussy. I made a video for you to watch of me smiling and telling you I love you, and when he showed it to you you smiled and laughed and stopped fussing :)
I don't know how it's even possible, but we fell for you even harder this month. Every day there's this moment where your dad and I look at you, then stop and look at each other and say "I just can't believe how cute he is. I mean LOOK at him! He is the cutest boy ever. How did we get so lucky? He is the sweetest little boy in the world. He is so special. I cant believe he's ours...oh my gosh he's just so perfect I can't take it!" And we kind of just gush forever about how much we adore you, from the very core of our beings.
Little one, I don't know how you could ever comprehend how deeply and fiercely we love you, but we will surely spend our days trying to show you.
This month was a big one for you. You started consistently rolling over. It's too cute. When you're on your back you tuck your legs in and strain until you finally roll.
You also started saying more syllables and screeching. Your new syllable is babababababa and you screech when you want attention.
You still love love love books. Nothing excites you more, and I love that about you. You're such a little intellectual.
You grab any and everything that ISNT a baby toy. When I hand you a baby toy, you often throw it on the ground defiantly as if to say "How dare you insult me by giving me this childish play thing!" You sure know how to make me laugh.
You already have little preferences and you let me know what they are. For instance, when I turn on the TV to watch Friends, you start fussing and crying and look at me like "this is borrrring...how am I supposed to watch this?!" Then I turn on Baby Einstein and you're all smiles.
I love taking you on walks. You look at the trees and sky with such curiosity, and it's so fun to watch you. You're usually so fascinated by everything that you forget I'm there, so I stop the stroller and say your name and wait for you to look at me, and then you smile at me like this:
And then my heart explodes with joy. Thank you for that, little one. Did you know you have the best smile-eyes I've ever seen? You get those from your daddy :)
