"I'm a mom" moments

Do you ever have those moments where you’re just pushing your little boy (or girl) through the grocery store and it just hits you that you’re a mom? That you brought a life into the world and are creating and shaping this little person’s life each and everyday? That you are finished being a kid, and now you’re the one raising a child?

I do.

And not only that I’m a mom, but this perfect little boy’s mom.

I love these moments because so many emotions engulf me…joy, love, wonder, disbelief, gratitude, passion, warmth, peace, wholeness, and awe. In these small moments, I pause and bask in the joy that permeates every cell in my body and every particle in my soul as I realize that I wouldn’t want to be anywhere or anyone else in the whole world. I am exactly where I want to be because of this little boy and his sweet spirit. Naturally, I then turn to look at my little boy. I smile at him and he instantly smiles back, as if he knows what I’m thinking and feels the same way. He is forever engrained in me, and I in him. He heals me and completes me in a way that nothing else ever has.

Thank you for igniting this new fire in me, little one. I don't know if you’ll ever fully comprehend how much I love you, because it’s impossible to put into words. But I will spend my entire life making sure you know.

Look at this little 5 monther!

(Please excuse the terrible lighting. We live in a basement where it's impossible to take natural light shots)
